Finamac was founded in Brazil, in 1985, by an Aeronautical Engineer with a strong entrepreneurial vision and experience in aerospace industry, who enabled the company along with his revolutionary project of a compact popsicle machine, completely innovative in the market. He has been leading the business until today.
The idea came from growing up watching his father, an Italian immigrant who arrived in Brazil in 1954 and started with an ice cream shop, working later as a refrigeration technician and, during his free time, manufacturing small artisanal ice cream machines to people in his neighborhood.
In 1988, at age 29, the Aeronautical Engineer built the first 5 samples of his revolutionary popsicle machine in a spare room of his house, facing a huge challenge and creating a successful story.
He applied all his resources in this business and began with one employee. Five years later 70 people were employed. Over time, the manufacturing parts were outsourced and the Company focused on innovative research projects and integration of equipment, accumulating more than 40 patents in ice cream machines.
In 2001, he also founded the first Computer Graphics Vocational School of Brazil, taking advantage of the digital technology developed by Finamac to create and visualize ice cream machines. Supported by Casimiro Montenegro Filho Foundation (Brazil) and academic materials prepared by Professors of the Brazilian Technological Institute of Aeronautics (ITA), the School became an important resource of talented people with focus in new technologies.
In 2006, Finamac began to export its brand and products, which are currently present in more than 70 countries.
The constant optimism of Finamac with the training of its personnel can also be seen in a review released on Education and Work program of TV Cultura in Brazil, shown in October 2009
In 2012 Finamac received support from FAPESP, a Funding Agency for Research and Innovation in the State of São Paulo, Brazil, to develop the most revolutionary ice cream machine ever created in the world, to be presented to the market in 2018.
Such innovation is being developed with the support of Doctors from the best Educational Institutions of Brazil and the United States as ITA (Technological Institute of Aeronautics, Brazil), Poli (Polytechnic School of USP, Brazil) and CALTECH (California Institute of Technology, USA). It also has technological support of US suppliers, Sweden, Denmark, Germany and other countries.
In 2014, the Company was also given a grant from the Design Export Award, supported by APEX Brazil, the Brazilian Agency for Export incentive, which resulted in the revolutionary design of the new ROBOPOP Popsicle machine, certified by Safety and Health Agencies of the United States and Canada, according to the UL (Underwriters laboratories) and NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) Standards.
Also in 2014, Finamac gained recognition by having presence in 15 of the 17 best Popsicles makers in the US, besides exporting more than 60% of its production. See the stores in this link by clicking on the images in the left arrow. Fifteen of them are using Finamac equipment.
In 2015 Finamac officially opened the international sales office and manufacturing plant in Miami, United States.
Since 2016 some machine models have been proudly produced in USA in order to launch a complete line, UL and NSF compliant, from 2017 on.
Also in 2016, the School received approval by the MEC (Brazilian Ministry of Education) of the first Graduation Course in Computer Graphics launched in the country, an unprecedented initiative that crowns the commitment of our structure to value the importance of quality education in Brazil and worldwide. The success of the enterprise attracted larger educational institutions and one of them acquired it in the same year.
The staff of Finamac are composed of dedicated and competent people seeking a lasting and challenging employment and many of them have been with the Company for several years or since its foundation. Our suppliers and collaborators follow the same principle and give solidity and reliability to our products and services.
